Skills Pathfinder

Learn the skills that make you future-proof.

AI is changing what skills are worth. Find your gaps with a 5-minute check, then learn the AI-proofing skills and the capabilities that keep you in charge — one small step at a time.

No account needed. Nothing is graded — levels describe attention, not proficiency.

Why this matters

01

Build the human skills to thrive with AI

AI can help you work faster. Your human skills help you choose the goal, judge the answer and own the outcome. Most importantly, they help you use technology in service of work that matters — to you and to others.

Strengthen the human skills that sit across six future-ready capabilities — so you can use AI with confidence, judgment and purpose.

What you gain

  • More time for meaningful work
  • More confidence in what you deliver
  • Better judgment around AI
  • A stronger connection between your skills and purpose
  • Capabilities that travel with you
  • One practical next step
01

Amplify what matters

Used well, AI can help you start faster, explore more possibilities and complete routine work sooner. But the real opportunity is not simply greater efficiency. It is reclaiming time and attention for deeper thinking, creativity, human connection and work you find meaningful.

AI should not only help you produce more. It should help you create more space for what matters.

Research pulse · R1

In a preregistered experiment with 453 professionals, ChatGPT reduced the time needed for midlevel writing tasks by 40% and improved rated quality by 18%.

Noy & Zhang, Science, 2023.

02

Know where AI helps — and where it doesn't

AI can be excellent at one task and unreliable at the next — even when the two tasks look equally difficult. The skill is not using AI everywhere. It is knowing when it helps, what needs checking and when your own expertise should lead. That means fewer avoidable mistakes and more confidence in the work you put your name to.

Research pulse · R2

In an experiment with 758 consultants, AI users completed 12.2% more tasks and worked 25.1% faster on tasks suited to AI. But on a task beyond AI's capabilities, they were 19% less likely to reach the correct answer.

Dell'Acqua et al., Organization Science, 2026.

03

Keep your judgment in the loop

AI can draft, summarize and suggest. You bring the purpose, context and responsibility.

  • You decide what question to ask.
  • You challenge weak assumptions.
  • You check what matters.
  • You choose what happens next.

Working with AI should strengthen your thinking — not switch it off.

The goal is not to hand over your judgment. It is to amplify it.

Research pulse · R3

A meta-analysis of 106 experiments found that human–AI combinations performed better than humans working alone on average — but worse than the better of the human or AI working alone. Simply adding AI did not guarantee a better result.

Vaccaro, Almaatouq & Malone, Nature Human Behaviour, 2024.

04

Build skills that keep work human

AI models will change. The tools will change. Your human capabilities travel with you.

  • Critical thinking helps you spot weak answers.
  • Listening helps you understand what people actually need.
  • Resilience helps you keep learning when the rules change.
  • Creativity helps you imagine possibilities that do not yet exist.
  • Systems thinking helps you see beyond the immediate task.
  • Purpose helps you decide what is worth doing in the first place.

Purpose is not an abstract ideal. It helps you decide what to automate, what to protect and where your time and abilities can make the greatest contribution.

AI can help answer how. You still need to ask:

  • Why does this matter?
  • Who does it help?
  • What would a better outcome look like?

Being future-ready is not only about becoming more efficient. It is about becoming more intentional — using technology to support work, relationships and goals that carry meaning.

Research pulse · R4

In a study of 319 knowledge workers, greater confidence in generative AI was associated with less critical-thinking effort. The researchers found that critical thinking increasingly involves verifying information, integrating AI-generated material and remaining responsible for the work.

Lee et al., CHI 2025.

05

Practice with purpose

Future-readiness is not a course you complete once. It is a practical growth loop:

  1. 01Take a five-minute skill check.
  2. 02See your current pattern across the AI-proofing skills and six future-ready capabilities.
  3. 03Ask what matters most in your work or life right now.
  4. 04Choose one skill that could help you move it forward.
  5. 05Try one seven-day experiment in a real situation.
  6. 06Reflect, adjust and take the next step.

There is no pass or fail. You do not need to work on every skill at once. Start with one meaningful challenge, one person you want to help or one contribution you want to make.

One honest check. One purposeful skill. One real experiment.

Becoming AI-ready is not about keeping up with machines. It is about using technology to do more of what matters — with judgment, agency and purpose.

Four ways AI quietly costs you capability

01

Automation exposure

A task becomes easy to delegate, reducing the need to perform it manually.

02

Deskilling exposure

A person stops practising the underlying reasoning and becomes less able to work independently.

03

Over-trust exposure

Fluent output is accepted without enough evidence, challenge or source checking.

04

Accountability exposure

It becomes unclear who made the choice, checked the result or owns the consequence.
